In this talk I will briefly outline philosophical worldviews that underpin views on science and religion and their interaction. I will discuss the role of faith in physics and the role of evidence in religious belief. In considering potential areas of overlap between science and religion I will highlight the different perspectives and questions asked by these two fields. I will draw comparisons with this from my own experience of interdisciplinary research between physics and biology. Extending the transdisciplinary theme, I will reflect on our understanding of the world through different disciplines, aspects of truth and creative pictures of the world. Finally, from a personal perspective, I will suggest ways in which the faith of a Christian physicist may be different from that of believers without an scientific background as well as different from the faith of an atheist physicist.
