Speakers: Professor Roger Barlow, Manchester University

Accelerator Driven Thorium reactors provide an alternative to the conventional Uranium/Plutonium system in which Thorium is converted to Uranium with the help of spallation neutrons from an accelerator. This is manifestly safe, as the reactor is always subcritical and if the accelerator is switched off the reaction stops. The talk will present the current state of Thorium ADSR developments in the UK and worldwide
