The afternoon starts by looking at the different kinds of atmosphere on other planets and bodies in the Solar System and the focus then moves to examine particular facets of the Earth’s atmosphere. We have taken the opportunity to welcome established experts in the field as well as early-career physicists so that the discussions have as wide an appeal as possible.
After the invited talks we will announce the winners of the essay competition, followed by the Environmental Physics Group AGM. Then we adjourn to the IoP HQ for a joint evening meeting with the London and South East Branch, at which Professor Jim Skea from Imperial College will tell us about emerging conclusions from the IPCC report on Climate Change Mitigation.
