About the Bank of England...
As the country’s central bank, the Bank of England plays a fundamental role in the UK economy. What we do is challenging – but it makes for interesting work. Because everything we do impacts on the nation. In 2013, the government plans for the Bank to take responsibility for prudential regulation of banks and insurance companies. With the creation of the new Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) as part of the Bank of England, we can now offer an even greater variety of exciting opportunities for emerging talent. You’ll soon see that, beyond three hundred years of history, there is so much more to discover about who we are and what we do. Look more closely, and you will understand that the Bank of England is an incredibly exciting hub of new, dynamic thinking – and a uniquely rewarding place to develop your future career. On one level, you will be working to tackle some of the most important and most challenging economic and financial issues facing the UK today. And on another, you will also touch people’s lives, encompassing everything from interest rates to stability and financial markets.

Yes, economics underpins much of what we do. But we look for bright graduates from diverse analytical disciplines. Join our graduate programme, and you will help to drive new policy and change, at the very heart of the UK economy. In return, we will offer you a friendly, welcoming and supportive environment – the perfect place to pursue a truly outstanding career. Take a closer look. See the Bank differently.
