How are photons detected in the eye and how are electrical impulses generated in the eye for the brain to interpret? How does the brain compute depth from the left/right image pair received from the eyes? How can we recreate a scene in 3D and how does 3D cinema work? The human visual system is an amazingly complex and sensitive detection system, helping us navigate the world around us. It's an excellent example of the interplay of biology and physics. This lecture uses demonstrations to explore this exciting field.
