This talk has now been cancelled due to unavailability of speaker and venue.
The Merseyside Branch of the Institute of Physics regrets to announce that the six form lecture and associated evening lecture, scheduled for the afternoon and evening of Wednesday, 4th December, have had to be cancelled. We were informed a few days ago that the lecturer, Dr Anu Ojha, due to unforeseen circumstances, was unable to give the presentations. At very short notice, Prof Tim Greenshaw (U. of Liverpool) and Dr. Andy Newsome (Liverpool JMU) offered to stand in and present what would have been exciting and informative lectures. Now, we have also been told that, due to industrial action, the U. of Liverpool buildings are closed on the 4th December.
It is our intention to continue with arranging schools lectures next year and Dr Ojha has undertaken to give his lecture on 'Space, skydiving and Red Bull Stratos' on a suitable date in the future.
