Speakers: Prof. Paul Hardaker

The climate is undoubtedly changing, we can measure that, and some well-established physics tells us what we might expect the scale of that change to be. But the complicated nature of our climate system means that complex models are needed to help make predictions that can be used to inform policy makers. Paul’s talk will lay out the evidence we have to date on what is causing the changes we can observe, the challenges in using models to predict future climate, and the uncertainty of these predictions. Paul will also talk about the challenges of communicating the science to both the public and policy-makers, and the implications of what the climate models are telling us for both public policy and investment in our infrastructure.
