Cluster of galaxies: Light in the dark spaces
John Porter Memorial Lecture
Professor Chris Collins, Astrophysics Research Institute, Liverpool John Moores University
Understanding the evolution of mass at the centres of clusters of galaxies is essential. However, current telescopes find it difficult to measure the faint light between the galaxies, even though in total this can dominate. This talk will look at current challenges and also to the near future when new facilities will give an unprecedented view of this elusive part of the cosmos.
