Speakers: Elizabeth Granger (UCLan)

The University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) and Royal Institution (Ri) have partnered to create the UCLan and Ri Young Scientist Centre (YSC). The YSC is a state-of-the-art laboratory that offers interactive and hands-on workshops for young people aged between 7 and 19. In the YSC students are encouraged to use experimentation in order to creatively explore science. This talk will explore how physics underpins most of the practical activities we carry out in the lab and how this helps show the exciting applications and real-world value of physics.
