Speakers: Professor Chris Rapley CBE

The talk will briefly cover the evidence that human activities are driving climatic change and the risks that this poses to human wellbeing. The underlying link to human energy needs will be outlined, as will the nature of the challenge to achieve a "low carbon" future.

Professor Chris Rapley CBE is Professor of Climate Science at University College London. His previous posts include Director of the Science Museum London, Director of the British Antarctic Survey, and Executive Director of the International Geosphere-Biosphere Programme (IGBP) at the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences in Stockholm.
