There will be light refreshments from 18:00. The talk will start at 18:30. All are welcome.
In 1904, Ambrose Fleming patented the device we know as the diode valve. This event is generally accepted as the beginning of electronics.
Recent technological developments are discussed, including the move to the 300 mm silicon wafer, the “Penryn” processor and the move to 45 and 32 nm gate technologies.
