The gender imbalance in physics is a well-known fact. Despite equal representations of genders in other natural sciences and mathematics, females make up less than 20% of university degrees in physics. Studies of elementary and secondary education suggest that this disparity originates when students are in primary or secondary school. In this seminar the question of gender disparity in physics will be considered from the point of view of the physics teaching in schools and in higher education and possible solutions to this problem will be debated.
