Speakers: Dr Somak Raychaudhury, Senior Lecturer in the Physics Department, the University of Birmingham.

Black holes are the most extreme environments in nature, where the force of gravity is so strong that even light cannot escape. Black holes of various sizes are everywhere in the Universe and are difficult to hide. Advances in observational Astronomy have made it possible for us to prove the existence of black holes.
