Speakers: Dr Peter J. Wheatley, University of Warwick

Lecture starts at 7.30pm. We finish by 9:00pm.

Over 1000 planets are now known around other stars, but still we know little about their atmospheres and bulk composition. This talk will describe a new UK-led project searching for super-Earth planets around bright nearby stars. We will see how it is possible to learn about the planetary atmosphere and interior using observations with new large telescopes.
