The Institute of Physics stand at The Irish Times Higher Options Conference (15–17 September 2010 at the Royal Dublin Society) is the only dedicated physics stand at this exhibition, which can have up to 15 000 people attending over the three days. The Institute’s stand has an abundance of general physics information and handouts on physics, including the Day in the Life profiles, 'What is Physics? Why do Physics?' new leaflet, posters, physics courses in Ireland and much more.
Most importantly there are postgraduate physicists at the stand to talk to prospective students and encourage them to study physics at third level, and to discuss the benefits of choosing it as a subject at Leaving Certificate/A-level.
