Ever since the Cold War, radiation has been held in awe and widely
considered dangerous.

But direct damage to health due to nuclear radiation is surprisingly low.

Wade Allison examines why this is so and what changes could be made to radiation safety standards that would reduce nuclear costs without any added risk.
