Key Stage 3/4 Physics for non-specialists – Forces and Motion

Clock icon
16:00 – 18:00 10 Mar 2016
Location icon
The Arnewood School, Gore Road, New Milton, Hampshire, BH25 6RS

Do your students struggle with identifying the correct forces acting on a body, and what the body’s motion is?

This workshop will:
• examine common forces and how to calculate resultant  forces
• study the effect of forces, including terminal velocity, distance - time graphs, velocity - time graph
• look at momentum, impulse and moments.

There will be hands-on experiments including Alka-Seltzer rockets, glycerine & ball-bearings to determine terminal velocity, use of a motion sensor, thought experiment of spanner in space and everybody’s favourite – the maggot distance- time graphs!

There will be a free bag of resources for each delegate, including a light up ball used for demonstrating Newton’s laws!
