Speakers: Professor Tara Shears, The University of Liverpool

You might think that now the Higgs boson has been discovered, there's nothing left for particle physics to find out. You might even agree with the Guardian's view that physics has hit the buffers. In this talk, I'll show you why that's not true at all. I'll remind you what we know in particle physics, how CERN's LHC helps us to find out more, and what the real mysteries are that we are still trying to solve. And, most excitingly, I'll show you what our latest, highest energy data has revealed to us about the universe, so you can judge for yourself how close to the buffers physics actually is.

Talks start at 18.30 with sandwiches and refreshments available from 18.00. All are welcome and all our talks are free to attend.
