The Internet of Things (IoT) is a term used to describe the ever-growing network of physical devices that are connected to the internet and the communication that occurs between these devices and other Internet-enabled applications and systems. This talk will describe the types of “things” involved, how to connect and manage them and examples of future IoT applications such as Smart Home, Smart Cities and Autonomous Vehicles.
Paul Garner heads a Research Practice based at BT’s R&D Headquarters at Adastral Park. Paul leads BT’s IoT Research Theme and is involved in collaborative projects on IoT including in Milton Keynes and Manchester.
