Speakers: Professor Barbara Maher, Lancaster University

Urban air contains solid microscopic particles, released as pollutants from vehicles, space heating and industry, which pose substantial hazard to human health. Magnetic measurements of air filters and roadside leaves can provide a fast, sensitive and cost-effective way of mapping urban airborne particulate concentrations, and assist in reducing human exposure to them.
