People have been using magnetic materials for a long time, initially as compasses.
Nowadays, magnetic materials are designed for purpose, and appear in many devices, and have played a key role in memory storage.
In this lecture, I will talk discuss some new developments and effects that can be set up using magnets, for example refrigeration.
