This meeting celebrates the invention of the technique of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) by Sir Perter Mansfield in Nottingham in the 1960s, for which he shared the Nobel Prize for Medicine in 2003. There will be historical talks on the early days of NMR (Nuclear Magnetic Resonance) in Britain, on the work at Aberdeen leading to MRI, and on the work of Mansfield and others at Nottingham in the 1960s.

There will be also be a number of talks outlining some of the recent developments in MRI.
