This yearly meeting aims to inform and entertain Physics teachers from across Northern Ireland with new ideas on demonstrating Physics in schools, as well as acting as a focal point and venue for networking and exchanging ideas and information. Newly qualified and experienced teachers welcome.
Mr. Gavin Grey (Education Manager for Physics, CCEA) on the current state and potential changes of the physics syllabus.
Mr. Paul Dolk (Apple Distinguished Educator, in Holland University of Applied Sciences) will show how to use iPads, iPhones and iPods for science education in schools, including hands-on usage for conference attendees.
Prof. Alan Fitzsimmons, QUB, will show available resources to use when teaching the astronomy portions of the current science curriculum.
Mr. Paul Nugent (Institute of Physics) will demonstrate the IOP Virtual Physics Laboratory.
Costs of attending the day is £20 per person, and which includes tea/coffee and a buffet lunch in the International Research Centre for Experimental Physics.
