Berrill Lecture Theatre, Open University, Walton Hall, Milton Keynes, MK7 6AA

Speakers: Prof. Paddy Regan

This talk discusses recent measurements which have revealed atomic nuclei that are very different from those in the 'normal' matter on Earth.

Understanding these exotic nuclei is important for fundamental physics and also for understanding the synthesis of chemical elements when stars explode as a supernovas.

The techniques we use can also measure radiation in the human environment, for example after nuclear power incidents such as Chernobyl and Fukushima.

Free car parking near the lecture theatre.
