Abstract:

The cold, dark regions of space between the stars are not quite as empty
as you might imagine; there are even molecules. The question is, why are astronomers interested in molecules? And which molecules are 'out there' and what do they tell us about the evolutionary cycle of stars planets, and possibly life itself?
