Optical design techniques have in recent years had to keep up with rapid advance in photonics technology. At this meeting we hear presentations on subjects of relevance to designers of components, instruments and users of photonics equipment. The most common software constraints, design issues and manufacturing problems will be discussed.
There are several software programs that are available for designing an optical system, but how has the software changed in recent years? Presentations from leading designers and suppliers of software will answer these important questions.
Subjects to be covered include designing of lenses, luminaries and lighting systems, lasers, mirrors, photovoltaic systems, sensing systems, in cameras and imaging systems, MEMS, thin films and more...
Contributions are welcomed on all aspects of Optical Engineering & Design - the committee intends to include presentations on applications, examples of problems solved and criteria for good design. We particularly invite contributions in the following, though not exclusive areas:
