We are in need of volunteers to help out at Physics in the Field at Lakeside Children's Festival.
We’ve been doing this a few years now and the feedback from volunteers is that actually they’ve had a lot of fun. Plus you get a Physics in the Field T-shirt and we’ll pay expenses, and it looks good on your CV.

Physics in the Field is all about bringing physics to places you wouldn’t expect to see it and by performing physics tricks at non-science events we aim to raise awareness of physics among people who wouldn’t normally choose to seek out science.

The Physics ‘tricks’ that we do are all fun, simple demos made from things you can find at home. The idea is to help illustrate different areas of physics and let people try them for themselves. We get members of the public, old and young, trying everything from sticking a skewer through a balloon without it going pop; to launching film canister rockets. This webpage shows some of the kind stuff we do http://www.physics.org/article-activity.asp?id=61
