A three day long event based in and around the People’s Park in Waterford City. This wonderful 19th century public park, located at the junction of William Street and the Park Road, has now become the setting for “Spraoi in the Park”, a blend of music, street theatre, workshops, installations and for 2010: Cinema!
The Institute of Physics will be present in the Park throughout Saturday and Sunday with “Physics in the Field”, Animal Magic will host demonstrations of live animals and reptiles, and The Storytelling Caravan, features storytelling with Melissa Baker for younger children. Waterford GAA Coaching and Games will present “Play Away” on the racetrack, hurling for fun for boys and girls. There's also the Spraoi art installation "Me in the Park", Percussion group Morro 16 will perform and workshop their unique samba drumming style, with samba dancers.
The 2010 Spraoi Parade “Flights of Fantasy” on Sunday afternoon, July 4th, at 3pm. Spraoi in the Park will also feature a Big Top, hosting puppet shows and workshops for children.
