Peter Chalk centre, Streatham campus, University of Exeter, Exeter, Devon EX4 4PD

Speakers: Sophie Cousens

In the South West, Marine Protected Areas, renewable energy installations and aquaculture present diverse challenges for coastal ecosystems. By employing a range of techniques including custom towed and baited HD video systems and benthic grabs we can investigate the effects of these developments on the ecosystem.

Come along and find out how the Marine Institute’s research is contributing to our understanding of how sustainable development and conservation in Dorset, Devon and Cornwall are affecting local coastal ecosystems.

Sophie Cousens is a Project Support Officer at the Marine Institute, Plymouth University and has a MRes in Marine Biology from Plymouth University.

IOP South West and IOP Environmental Physics Group are very pleased to present a series of three talks in Exeter, with an exclusive talk and tour in the MET office in July and a further talk at the University of Exeter in September.

Refreshments will be served from 7pm, with the talk beginning at 7:30pm. It is free and open to everyone. Please register for tickets.

Event type: Lecture/Talk
Organised by: IOP South West and IOP Environmental Physics Group
