An everyday application of nuclear physics is the production of the remarkable images used for medical diagnosis, where the distribution of a radioactive material is accurately determined throughout a person’s body. But did you know that this type of imaging is also used to study industrial processes as far ranging as food processing, pharmaceutical production and plastics refining, to name but a few applications.
