The ATLAS Experiment at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN is the biggest experiment ever constructed and is designed to answer fundamental questions about our universe such as the origin of mass and whether new particles such as those proposed by Supersymmetry exist. The talk will explain the background to ATLAS and the LHC, their construction, current status and most recent results.
Tea/coffee 6pm & afterwards. Lecture begins at 6.30pm Registration essential.
