A hundred years ago, Charles Barkla received the Nobel Prize in Physics for work completed almost exclusively in Liverpool’s Physics Department. He was also a local man, born in Widnes, and the star graduate of Oliver Lodge’s department at Liverpool. Barkla made at least three outstanding discoveries which are still significant in today’s research.

A public lecture by Dr Peter Rowlands of the University of Liverpool

Light refreshments will be available just before the talk.
