Synopsis: Early ideas on ‘continental drift’ were met with great scepticism. However, the evidence from Africa, South America and Australia (and the Atlantic Ocean) ultimately provided a compelling argument for what would become the unifying concept for Planet Earth – Plate Tectonics.
