The conference aims at bringing together postgraduate researchers from inside and outside the UK to exchange ideas on the mathematical aspects of relativistic quantum physics. A special focus of this workshop lies on relativistic quantum information (RQI), a relatively young field which combines techniques from quantum field theory, quantum gravity, quantum information and quantum optics.
The workshop is structured such that each of the invited speakers gives an introductory lecture (2h) on their area of expertise during the morning sessions, followed by shorter presentations (20 minute talks or posters) by the participants.
We aim to create an open and engaging environment to stimulate the exchange of ideas between the different areas mentioned above. In particular, the workshop will give young researchers from different areas the opportunity to establish the necessary interdisciplinary connections to actively participate in research in RQI.
It is expected that participants present a talk or poster. Limited funding for travel and accommodation is available.
Conference Prize: The participant delivering the best contributed talk will be awarded with a fully funded participation as an invited speaker at the RQI-N 2013, the annual conference on Relativistic Quantum Information, that is taking place in Nottingham in June 2013.
The prize is sponsored by the Nottingham RQI group. In addition, the presenter of the best poster will receive a prize sponsored by the QQQ group of the Institute of Physics.
