A conducted tour of the Royal Air Force Museum at Cosford, Shropshire has been booked.
This museum has over 70 aircraft (almost all under cover) including for example the Bristol Britannia, a TSR2 prototype and the Douglas Dakota. There are many other exhibits including an interactive centre on the principles of flight, particularly suitable for school pupils. Full details can be found on the website www.rafmuseum.org.uk.
You can get a limited range of hot meals, sandwiches etc at the Aviator Restaurant in the Museum. There are also indoor and outdoor areas where you can eat your own food.
Parts of the museum are open 10am – 6pm
Closing date: Saturday 6th June 2009.
Cost: The museum is free but we have to pay for the tour guides. The tour will be from 1.30-4pm. This will cost not more than £3 each, depending on numbers, and will be payable on the day.

Travel: Car will be the most convenient for most people but there is a railway station ½ a mile from the museum so public transport is quite feasible.
