Speakers: Prof. Steve Myers

The theory of relativity is 100 years old this year.

Join Belfast born Steve Myers, Director of Medical Applications at CERN, as he reflects on the importance of Einstein's work, the ground breaking ways that it is being applied at CERN today, and his own personal journey of discovery from the back streets of Belfast to the greatest scientific institution in the world. Steve's aim is to raise the profile of STEM subjects and hopefully inspire the next generation.

The event also happens to land on the 150th anniversary of the death of William Rowan Hamilton, Ireland's most famous mathematician, whose work partially provided the theoretical foundations on which the Theory of Relativity was based.

This is a free public event supported by RSA Ireland. There will be free refreshments at 5.30pm, with the talk starting at 6pm.
