2009 marks the centenary of Ernest Rutherford’s Geiger-Marsden experiment, leading to the discovery of the atomic nucleus. Rutherford’s great-granddaughter Mary Fowler and physicists Paddy Regan and Gary Mathlin join Jim Al-Khalili to celebrate the life of a pioneer of the nuclear age, whose work changed our world forever.
