In an event to accompany the 'Nature in a Different Light' exhibition Dr Chris Lavers from Plymouth University will talk about the humanitarian and wildlife applications of infra red technologies and share conversations over the wider issues surrounding military technologies. In ‘Swords to ploughshares: civilian applications for military technologies?’ he will consider why in the United States, technologies developed for the military pass into civilian application relatively easily, whereas this transfer of benefits is less observed in the UK’s military.
The Science Café is an open forum for dialogue and debate where everyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion.
