Speakers: Professor Alan Davies

There are many scenes in the movies where science crops up either directly as part of the plot or just naturally as the film develops.
In this IOP lecture we shall look at a variety of instances involving science or mathematics showing suitable clips from well-known films such as Die Hard and Cast Away together with clips from some not-so-well-known gems of the cinema.
Why is the science there? Is it correct? If not, why not?
This event is free but places need to be reserved. Alan Davies is Professor of Mathematics at the University of Hertfordshire.
