Speakers: Dr Izabela Jurewicz

Touch screens are almost everywhere you look from mobile phones, tablets to ATM machines. They are like invisible keyboard stuck to the front of the computer screen. They are made of a conductive material called indium-tin-oxide (ITO) that detects the placement of a finger on a screen. But ITO is rigid, and it breaks when you drop your phone. This talk will talk about the alternative nanomaterials such as carbon nanotubes, graphene and silver nanowires that can make future displays flexible and long-lasting.
