Are you a PhD student or postdoctoral researcher in the area of nanoscience and nanotechnology?
Are you considering your career options?
If so, then we would like to invite you to a careers exploration day hosted by the Nanoscale Physics and Technology Group at the Institute of Physics.
The event will be opened by Professor Dame Athene Donald, DBE, FRS, Professor of Experimental Physics at the Cavendish laboratory in Cambridge.
This will be followed by talks and an opportunity for discussion with a group of nanoscience PhD graduates, who have followed a variety of career paths, including academia, industry, publishing, teaching, etc..., and who will recount their experiences of exploiting their doctoral qualification in different fields beyond academic research.
These PhD graduates will provide you with tips on how they entered their respective fields, and will answer any questions you may have during the roundtable and Q&A sessions.
You can also sign up on the day for a free careers drop-in session, run by Sara Shinton, a careers expert.
