Enough solar energy arrives at the surface of the Earth every 40 minutes to satisfy world energy needs for a year. This talk explores the future of solar electricity, explaining why photovoltaic panels are widespread right now and how physicists can help them to become truly sustainable.

Ken Durose is a professor at the Stephenson Institute for Renewable Energy, University of Liverpool
