Speakers: Prof Bill Chaplin, University of Birmingham

It is an exciting time to be involved in the study of the Sun and stars, in particular given the recent launch of the NASA Kepler Mission.
The lecture will describe how "sunquakes" and "starquakes" give us remarkable insights on our own Sun, and on distant stars, and how Kepler - which is searching for planets around other stars - is providing unprecedented results on other stellar systems, i.e. extra-solarplanetsandtheir hoststars.
