Space Elevators: Feasibility and Timescale
By Peter Robinson - International Space Elevator Consortium
The talk will describe the current concepts for a Earth Space Elevator system and will explain three key areas that require technological development. These will be explored in more detail followed by speculation on a possible project timescale. Finally the possibilities for space elevators on other worlds will be discussed either in support of scientific/ commercial aims or purely as technology demonstrators.
