Speakers: Liz Nourshargh

Concerns have been expressed about the way we talk about energy in schools for more than 40 years. Although there are schemes that provide better ways of dis-cussing energy – notably the IOP’s SPT ma-terials – their take-up has been limited by official documents including the National Curriculum and exam specifications. That has now changed: the revised National Curriculum in England and the new GCSE criteria use the language and approaches that the IOP advocates. In this session, we will look at how we present energy in school.
As always, this will be a hands on workshop with refreshments and the opportunity to share ideas with colleagues from local schools. To book your place, please email lizn@physics.org.
