Abstract:

Electronics is currently defined by the silicon chip, but may soon be dominated by carbon. Will this lead to dramatic changes in technology or just make small improvements in the gadgets we have? We present the physics and applications of graphene and organic semiconductors: From the unique fundamental properties of these materials to the development of flexible screens, faster computers, better solar cells and printed electronics.
