Tony Day is professor of energy in the built environment at London South Bank University and Director of the Centre for Efficient and Renewable Energy in Buildings (CEREB), a research and teaching facility opened in June 2010.
Tony specialises in building energy analysis and the application of low and zero carbon technologies in the urban environment. He has done extensive work with the Greater London Authority and others to evaluate the impact of these technologies in London.
He works closely with industry, and has a number of active research and knowledge transfer projects. Tony is a Fellow of the Energy Institute, member of the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers, and Chair of the UK Solar Energy Society.
The lecture will discuss the key policy drivers for building energy consumption and show how this is expected to change over the next two decades.
Examples of monitored performance of low and zero carbon systems will be shown in order to examine how well these projections might be best met in practice.
