This meeting will discuss future prospects for understanding and probing physics Beyond the Standard Model. Topics to be covered include:

  • Theoretical approaches to understanding the gauge hierarchy problem and naturalness in the Standard Model.
  • New theoretical ideas in light of the discovery of a SM higgs-like boson at the LHC, and null results of direct searches for BSM physics with the 7-8 TeV LHC dataset.
  • Prospects for experimental tests of BSM theories using LHC data from 2015 onwards, including the phase-2 LHC upgrades.
  • Alternative routes to probing BSM theories, including dark matter searches, CMB measurements, and future colliders.
Following the IOP 1/2 day meeting on the Thursday, there will be an informal meeting on Friday morning with a few talks on hot topics in theoretical particle physics.
