Dr Melissa Uchida is a particle physicist work at Imperial College London.

Whilst we know that 68% of the universe is dark energy and 27% is dark matter, we have only hints as to their nature. The matter dominated universe of which we are a part makes up the remaining 5% but even here there are many outstanding questions, such as how does it come to exist in the first place?

To understand these questions particle physicists work as a global community, inventing new technologies with benefits that reach far beyond the pursuit of knowledge. This talk gives a brief history of particle physics and describes one physicist's work in the hunt for answers.

Parking is available on site.

There is no need to book please arrive for 4.45pm
