Speakers: Christopher Gallagher

The idea of nuclear power and the benefits it could give us is
very much out of fashion at the moment, but it wasn't always
that way. In the 1950s and 60s the public were more
accepting about adopting an atomic future and embraced
everything the industry could offer. In this golden age what we
wanted to do with atomic energy could only be limited by your
imagination.

Chris will talk about some of the more outlandish
ideas which originated during this period and track how the
golden age of the atom drew to a close and ask if nuclear
power really is something we should all be worried about.
